Juba Mission Day 2 & 3 Update

We have received many great updates from the Juba Sudan prayer team! They have been holding meetings all over the city with several teams ministering all at the same time. They have been ministering in government ministries and departments, clinics, schools, markets, slums, open air meeting and many other venues. God is truly blessing this project. With over 1,000 decisions each day, people are coming alive in Christ! At one school, the team was expecting 300 students and more than 1,300 students showed up and were presented with the life changing message of the gospel! It is still amazing how God works!

There are many stories of how God is moving and we can't wait to share them all with you. We heard of one story where the team visited a military barracks where the soldiers seemed to be very tired. The gospel message of Christ was presented and the soldiers were challenged to remember the love of God and many of them came forward for prayer. God is Good!

God is doing a HUGE work in Juba, Sudan and we’d greatly appreciate your continued prayer for the project, and thank God with you for the wonderful way He is touching lives in our midst.

We are so thankful for your partnership, and ask you to continue to pray for:

  • The Leadership luncheon on Thursday 16th which the Vice President and other leaders will attend
  • Wisdom, energy and anointing for the evangelists
  • Smooth logistics and clear communication with each other
  • That those who have been saved will be protected from the enemy, and will join the discipleship groups.
  • Fellowship and unity within the team
  • For an even richer harvest around the city of Juba tomorrow and for major breakthroughs at every level.
  • The co-ordination of the teams – counselors, choirs, musicians for each venue
  • Against logistical confusion and obstacles
  • Continued energy, joy and strong voices
  • For the leadership luncheon, and for the Lord to deeply touch these top level leaders.

Juba Prayer Team Update

Greetings everyone,

Below is just a short update we have a big day tomorrow to prepare for!

Our day started in churches around Juba, publicizing the mission and preaching the Word of God. The evangelists were well received and arrived back just in time to leave for the Opening Rally. The weather was HOT, and we were dehydrated before we got there. General attendance was slow, probably because of the heat, but it was well attended by dignitaries and church leaders. The Minister for Gender and Welfare, the Religious Advisor to the President, and even the Vice President himself attended.

At one point a huge storm approached, blowing a gusty (but relievingly cool) wind. Many people ran for cover as large drops of rain splattered the choir which was singing. The prayer team and counselors who were strategically positioned around the ground starting praying urgently – this storm had the potential to literally wipe out the Opening Rally.

The Choir sang more fervently, and everyone realized what was at stake. The singing grew in intensity and people started dancing in the rain… we were not going to give up this God given opportunity. Eventually the storm passed by and we were able to continue in considerably more pleasant cooler conditions.

After some great Sudanese choirs and our own youth Foxfire evangelists had performed, the Vice President warmly welcomed us to Juba, thanking the various African nations represented for their care of Sudanese refugees who fled Juba during the war. He emphasized the diversity and freedom of religion in Southern Sudan, and encouraged us to preach hard!

Stephen then shared his testimony, and clearly touched people deeply as they heard about his abandonment and suffering as a child, and had them laughing as he described how he tried to duck the preacher’s finger which pointed into the congregation where he was saved.

Both speakers set a poignant foundation for main speaker, Keith Cook’s message based on John 14:6 – Jesus is the only way to the Father. He described how God had rescued him from near death experiences, and more than that, how in Christ had completely dealt with our sin so that we can be assured of eternity in heaven with a holy God. The sun had set by this time, but people had stayed to listen to the message. When the listeners were invited to give their lives to Jesus, many hands were raised, and we were surprised by the number of people who trailed over the waiting counselors. 124 people gave their lives to the Lord for the first time.

Thanks so much for upholding us in prayer through this first day. The teams will be dispersed into the 6 mission zones tomorrow, visiting schools, businesses, government ministries and markets. Please continue to pray for:

· That many hearts will be prepared to hear the gospel

· Against obstacles and logistical difficulties

· Health and energy

· Safety as we travel around

Prayer Update From the Juba Prayer Team September 11, 2010

Dear All,

Usually missions are riddled with difficulties, understandably we are storming the enemys territory. Although weve had significant challenges during this mission, we are just blown away by how much the Lord has been providing and answering prayers beyond what we can ask or imagine.

Today the Government of Southern Sudan covered the US$30,000 needed to pay for the Opening and Closing Rally venue!! Not only that, they will also supply the 500 bottles of water, 500 sodas and 7 tents to provide shelter for the audience. The Vice President himself will be the Guest of Honour. The President would have come if he had not been travelling to the USA. WOW!! We are so excited and thankful to the Lord for His amazing provision!

Also today the rest of the team arrived safely and we have enjoyed a time of orientation and settling in (as well as Ethiopian New Years celebrations!)

During the introductions with the Steering Committee, Stephen explained that just as 4 people were needed to carry the cripple to Jesus, so we all are needed to play different roles in bringing the city of Juba to Jesus for healing.

We want to thank you all so much for being a stretcher bearer with us and the local church in Juba without your prayers, support and encouragement, we would never had made it this far. Please pray that, just as the cripple received forgiveness of sin, and then was healed, Juba will be cleansed by our Redeemer, and will walk forward into its future strongly in the Lord.

Please continue to pray for:

  • The team as they scatter into churches throughout the city tomorrow morning, to preach and raise awareness for the mission
  • Mission Africa guest Keith Cook was one of those who arrived safely please pray that he recovers quickly from jetlag, and that the Lord prepares him to speak at the Opening Rally.
  • Stephen who will be sharing his testimony
  • Foxfires who will be dancing and the local officiants, choirs and singers
  • The finalization of the mission preparations, particularly our logistics co-ordinator who has done a fantastic job, and has an enormous challenge on his hands as he organizes practical necessities for over 160 meetings around the city!

God bless, and love from all of us here in Juba,

Update from the Juba Prayer Team September 10!

Thank you so much for your prayers!
Today we welcomed the majority of our visiting evangelists from
South Africa, Kenya, DRC, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Malawi, and there was great excitement as they settled in. The national television station covered their arrival, and interviewed Stephen, Grace and a Foxfire about the ministry. The Foxfires with usual enthusiasm and spark also spontaneously performed a song and dance which will be screened tonight on “South Sudan Television”.
  • Radio announcements are being aired 4 times a day publicizing the mission, and posters are hanging around the streets. The head of the evangelism committee spent much of yesterday answering phone calls from people curious about the upcoming events, or confirming that there was great need for the gospel in their area.
  • Praise God for the safe arrival of many of our evangelists today. Please pray for the safe arrival of the others tomorrow·
  • Please pray for the final preparations of the various meetings around the city, particularly the Opening Rally on 12 September.
  • Praise God that we have received positive indications that the President will subsidize some of the cost for the Opening ceremony or leadership lunch.
  • Praise God for open doors – please pray for the radio talk show tonight, at which a group of our evangelists and foxfires will share their testimonies and publicize the mission. Pray for those listening, and those who “call in”.
  • The Leadership Luncheon for politicians – we are waiting now for RSVPs and pray that many will be drawn to come along. Pray for the speaker at this event who needs great wisdom and words from above.
  • Preparations for discipleship groups which will continue after the mission – this is crucial to the long term preservation of the fruit of the mission. Please particularly pray that those who were trained at the Discipleship training session in August, and the refresher courses this month, will remember what they have learnt and have commitment to the discipling process (which as we all know is sometimes not easy!).

Many thanks from all of us here!

Prayer Update from the Juba, Sudan Prayer Team!

Things are moving quickly
now, and we want to give God the glory for some quickly answered prayer

  • We met with the Presidents Religious Advisor yesterday who is very supportive and will be trying to arrange for the President to attend the Opening and Closing Ceremony, as well as the Presidential lunch. Please pray the government will subsidize the cost incurred for the necessary security at the venue
  • We also met with the Minister for Internal Affairs who became a believer at the 2007 AE Presidential Prayer Breakfast. He has offered us his personal phone number if we have any security problems, as well as giving us a police jeep, and two security personnel to accompany those of us taking photographs.
  • Posters and handbills have arrived!! Without going into the complicated story it seems that the packages were opened in Khartoum, then deliberately delayed and false charged by Customs, probably because of the content of the posters. Thankfully John Shikukus wife persevered and ensured they were forwarded to Juba, and a kindly woman in Juba Post Office discovered the location of the posters where they had been concealed by the airline (in Juba Airport!) since Monday. The Juba Post Office lady, knowing our difficulties, personally covered the customs payment and took them to her office for us to pick them up! Praise God for these faithful people who have spent time, energy and personal resources dealing with this situation. Please pray they are strategically placed so that many people become aware of the upcoming mission.
  • Positive Steering Committee meeting yesterday was the largest ever, and we have agreed to meet again today to continue discussions. Please continue to pray that the mission meeting arrangements will fall into place.
  • Please continue to pray that the Lord would be preparing, anointing and protecting the visiting evangelists, many of whom will commence their journey tomorrow.

Thanks so much from all of us in Juba!

Reaping And Sowing In Our Future Part 3 by Keith Cook

"We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright." Psalms 20:5-8

So far this week we have noted that we can sow: Love, Stability, and Faith. Let us continue to look deeper into sowing for our future.

4. We can sow Hope - Sowing hope in someone's life brings great reward. When we go out of our way to see the needs of others and then ask God how we can help meet those needs, we will be blessed. Christians are known the world over for their compassion and giving spirit.

A few years ago we met Pastor Daniel. We had been preaching in Kenya and had seen around 6,000 decisions for Christ. Pastor Daniel said that the people of the slum area where we were preaching had no hope of ever growing in Christ because they did not have a church.

His church was in the suburbs and they could not tend to the needs of the people in that area. With tears in his eyes he said that he would be willing to leave his church in order to come start a new church in the slums. God quickly led us to help him bring hope to the people. We helped him build a simple church for the people.

I asked him what he hoped to do at the church. He relayed that his heart is to take the Jesus film and show it in all the slums of the city and at all the markets in the surrounding villages. The only problem is that he did not have a projector. We all prayed with him and returned to the U.S.A. One of our staff, Laurie McTier, went to church upon her return from Kenya, and learned that they had a projector that they wanted to give away. Is there any doubt who received the projector? Pastor Daniel!

God loves to use His church and Christians to bring hope to those in need. Financial, emotional, and spiritual needs are all the same to our God. He brings hope to each!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will sow Hope to all you meet today.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The GoTeam Short Term Missions Projects and GoTeam Members. GoTeams are made up of young people and adults who voluntarily go on an On The Go mission project around the world and are making a strategic impact for Christ.

Reaping And Sowing In Our Future Part 2 by Keith Cook

"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary." Galatians 6:9

Today, let us look deeper into sowing for our future. God says we will reap what we have sown. The Bible says we can sow into people's lives, we can share into people's lives, and we can be a blessing in someone's life.

3. We need to sow Faith - By sowing into other people's lives we can help their faith grow stronger. When we help someone trust God and see God work in their lives we have helped them prepare for their future life with Christ.

Think about which individual brings out the best in you? Who encourages you to trust and believe God for great visions and dreams? In my life it is probably Shad Williams. Shad is a crazy evangelist who travels all over the world sharing Christ. Several times a year we minister together in crusades in Kenya or India and God always uses Shad to build up my faith.

I will never forget years ago sitting in a Kroger grocery store parking lot with Shad. We both had just gotten in from projects overseas and we had very little money. Our wives had sent us to get groceries. We pooled our pennies and bought a box of crackers. We both were in tears leaving the grocery store.

On the way back to his house Shad started telling war stories. Now war stories are stories about great things God had done in our lives while working for God. We quickly were laughing and both were trying to one up the other as to who could tell the greatest illustration of God's provision. By the time we finally came in from the store we both were full of renewed hope and confidence in our calling, our God, and our faith.

Upon entering the house we discovered that the girls had found some food and had cooked up a great meal. We all rejoiced. The next day when Joan and I returned to our house we discovered that one of our friends had gone out and shopped for food for us and had left well over three hundred dollars worth of groceries in our kitchen.

God had worked a great miracle. Why? Because a faith sower had shared into our lives. Why not start sowing faith into people's lives? Be used of God to move people beyond pity and self-absorption into faith and trust in God and His faithfulness.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you can live by faith today and in the future. Sow faith. Encourage others to live by faith.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go¹s USA Outreach Effort. God has placed a United States effort on the heart and mind of the On The Go Team. Three key objectives are sharing, praying, and training in every county in the USA using On The Go Advance Teams, Training Teams, Planning Teams, Prayer Teams, GoTeams, and Outreach Efforts.

Reaping And Sowing In Our Future by Keith Cook

"And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease." Psalm 107:37,38

The Bible says that we need to face the future, that our future is not affected by the culture, the economy, terrorists, or the calamities that are going on. The Bible says that our future is directly tied to our trusting in the Lord and that it is unwise not to consider our future.

The next thing about our future is that we reap in the future what we have sown in the past. If we haven't sown or stored up anything, we won't reap anything. If you haven't trained up an army for the Lord, you won't have an army that is ready to fight when the enemy rushes in. If you haven't seeded into your children faith principles and godliness when they are young, then when they go off to college or when they go out into the world and they face problems and are struggling, or their wife leaves them, or their child does something crazy, they won't know what to do.

God says we reap what we have sown. The Bible says we can sow into people's lives, we can share into people's lives, and we can be a blessing in someone's life. We can make a difference in this world, but we have to do it. Some of us when calamities happen are not prepared because we have not sown enough good seed into our lives and into the lives of others around us.

SOW

1. We can sow Love - Love is an attitude and it is contagious. When you return love for hate, God wins. When you act in love and refuse to react in fear, God wins.

2. We can sow Stability - Our lives can bring stability and strength to those around us. By living by God's standards, that are found in the Bible, we help bring stability into our world. Every time you turn the other cheek or help an enemy you are used of God to bring more stability into our culture.

Dave Ramsey and I have been friends for several years. He is man who has seen adversity in his life. In the past he has gone from rags to riches and back to rags. Then he heard the voice of God concerning how a Christian man and woman could be financially responsible and how Christians can get and stay out of debt. Through his pain God has taught him some profound principles and life lessons.

Dave sows financial stability into people's lives. He offers sound, solid Biblical advice on how to "owe no man anything". His life has been an inspiration to millions across the nation. The "Dave Ramsey Show" radio program is heard around the U.S.A. and his Financial Peace University Seminars are helping to deliver thousands from financial ruin. While visiting his office one day, Dave showed me a huge acrylic vat filled with cut up credit cards that people had sent him. This trophy of changed lives proves that Dave has been used of God in many people's lives. He has sown stability.

Daily prayer focus: Pray that you can sow love and stability to all you meet. Start today by living by God's principles and by mentoring others in love and stability.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook, Joan Cook, the U.S.A. Staff, and On The Go Board of Directors, as they add leadership and direction for the ongoing ministries of the Keith Cook Team and On The Go.

Witnessing by Hilton Airall

On The Go Daily Devotion for August 29, 2010
Brought to you each day by
Keith Cook Evangelistic Association / On The Go

Witnessing by Hilton Airall

"Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." 1 Chronicles 16:24

On a recent mission trip, we had the opportunity to minister to families who were hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi. As we were ministering, God laid this verse on my heart. We were reaching out to individuals, many of whom had lost everything they owned except the clothes on their backs. They needed someone to give them hope, love, and encouragement. As we walked down the streets we had the chance to pray with many within the community and tell them about Jesus, a friend who will stick closer than a brother, even in the hard times. It was so amazing to see the smiles and the tears as we shared Christ's love.

I was also reminded of Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Many times Christians are scared to take the Gospel to the world because of fear. They may be afraid of rejection, or maybe even that they won't know what to say. This verse reminds me that the Holy Spirit will give us strength to spread the Gospel. He will go before us, provide us with opportunities and the words to share.

Even as a young teenager, God showed me that I should always be willing to share Christ in any circumstance with those I come in contact with. As Christians, we can share Christ's love through simple things such as a smile, firm handshake, a cup of cold water, prayer, and sharing our testimony. This experience in Gulfport has changed my life, and I'm sure the lives of our entire team. Each individual we came in contact with needed the Gospel and we were able to share Christ with them. I want to challenge you today to take the opportunity to share Jesus with someone you come in contact with.

While on our mission trip, I began to realize that I was afraid to witness. I noticed I was hiding in my shell. God encouraged my heart, and here's what He told me: "Hilton, Spread my Word. Do not be afraid. I did not leave Daniel in the lion's den, nor did I forsake David when he fought Goliath. I did not forsake Paul when he was in prison or when he was shipwrecked. I will not forsake you."

God will be with you when you spread the Gospel, so don't be afraid.

Daily Prayer: Pray that God will give you strength when sharing your faith.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Safety In Travel for each On The Go staffer and GoTeam volunteer.

Witnessing to Disaster Stricken by Keith Cook (onthego.org)

"In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears." 2 Samuel 22:7

With all the news about storms and disasters looming over parts of our nation, I thought it would be good to look at how to minister in times like this. Servants of Jesus Christ must be able to go to where the people are and must arrive prepared to minister to people who find themselves in many unique and often difficult situations. As you seek to be led by the Spirit you will find yourself needing to arrive prepared to minister and comfort real people with real problems. Here are some simple suggestions for ministering to hurting people.

1. Be Alert - Pay attention to outward signs of neglect, abuse, need, or problems. Long before the physical storms have come many emotional and physical storms have already hit. Be alert to old scars that God may show you and help at that point of need also.

2. Don't Play God - Don't run ahead of God, or try to fix all their problems in the flesh. Hear from God and follow His direction. Guard your heart and emotions. Do not let circumstances or emotions direct you. Let God. Meeting one need in Jesus name is better than not meeting any. Christ is in control and will use the entire body of Christ to help.

3. Focus On First Things First - Focus on one physical need and one spiritual need at a time. People with enormous needs can be overwhelmed with too many options at one time. They may be in emotional and physical shock. Work on basic needs first or the most vocal need they may be expressing. Their desire for knowledge and information should be a primary concern. Assure them they are as safe as they possibly could be and that God is directing their recovery, not just you or the authorities.

4. Get Real Help - Don't get in over your head. It is not a sin to use professionals and agencies that will provide total ministry. Letting the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Samaritans Purse, local hospitals, police, or even another ministry meet a need is just as spiritual and needed as going it alone. Together we all can get more done than by ourselves!

5. Do not judge them or on the other hand condone any of their past actions or problems. You just speak a word about Jesus or meet a need. People come unglued during times of crisis. They yell at their children, strike out at caregivers, curse God, and do and say things they normally would never do or say. Just love them. Care for them. Comfort them. God has given you a healing salve to pour on their life. Pour!

6. Make Sure You Minister - If God has placed you in this situation you are there to minister to them. Be bold and sensitive at the same time. Do not neglect the spiritual duty you have to bring Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit to the situation. Human resources alone cannot solve their problems. While God did not bring this disaster to them He can lead them through it. You are there as a Christian minister. Share Christ, not humanism. Share the love of Jesus, not the philosophy of man. God has a plan for their life - they, like everyone, have sinned against God - Jesus is God's way to salvation - come to Christ and let Him be the savior they need.

7. Be Realistic - Expect difficulties, expect abuse, confrontations, questions, misjudging your motives, and for them to even be suspicious. Because of the abuse of the press and media at attacking the church and para-church groups, many in our culture think all Christians are out to get money from them or abuse them. Everyone will not accept your love and help. Some, who desperately need your assistance, will walk on by because of preconceived ideas they have about you or the church. With that in mind it is important to share Christ and the work of the Lord in a casual way. Never push your faith on anyone. Look for natural and spirit directed doors of opportunity. Divine appointments are obvious and never result in confusion.

8. Be Spiritually Prepared - Know what you believe and what the Bible has to say about sin, love, forgiveness, tragedy, addictions, hope, recovery, reconciliation, and the consequences of sin and not getting right with God. When Christ leads you in a conversation it is good to have resources stored up in your heart and mind. You get spiritually prepared when you take time to study the Word of God, read Christian materials and books, search out Christian internet sites, go to Christian seminars and lectures, and spend time in prayer. Ask questions, read, research, dig deep. You are a representative of King Jesus!

9. Be Smart - If you are sharing as a member of a church group or outreach team remember to stay close to your group. In any kind of helping hand or spiritual counseling situation do not get in a situation where you are alone with strangers or are in a dangerous situation. Remember you are under a covering of that local church or ministry and do not neglect their rules and instructions. Thinking you are hearing from God and breaking rules and instructions doesn't honor Christ. Ask for permission to not follow normal guidelines and suggestions. Use your God given resources of experience, leadership, Lordship, and partnership to direct you in all you do.

10. It's A God Thing - Expect God to show up and do a work in the person's life. God will and can work through you to help them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Trust Him to direct your steps and guard your path. Helping others in Jesus name is the ultimate ministry. Jesus was a helper also. He went around meeting needs as He saw them. If you ever need a guide to what to do when helping others look in the Bible and just do what Jesus did!

He went to the people - did not wait for them to come to Him.

He asked probing questions - saw where they really were and what they thought they needed.

He gave them hope as He shared the truth - He spoke to their real needs with insight and love.

He helped them - He always blessed the people by meeting their real needs.

Why not go today and seek the Lord and ask for permission and direction to help those who are suffering right now. If you do not know where to look to offer your assistance begin with your local pastor. You also can contact other Christian ministries who do these kinds of ministries. Our ministry has a whole department called, GoCare, that offers help and hope in Jesus name. Every outreach project we do has a GoCare worker on it to make sure we take the cup of cold water with us as we take the bread of life. May God bless you as you go into all the world for Jesus.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for individuals who have been affected by recent storms and floods. Pray for their strength, protection, and safety. Pray for Christian ministries involved in Disaster Relief.

Jesus Does Not Change By Keith Cook

In Hebrews 13:8, the Bible says, "Jesus Christ is the same" When? "Yesterday, Today, and Forever."

Say to yourself, "Yesterday, Today, and Forever". He is the same. He does not change. The calendar changes, the clock changes, the century changes, everything about our culture may change, but God says, "I have not changed." Period. No explanation is needed.

Not too long ago, I was talking with a pastor from Nevada about our world and culture. We were in his office talking about how our culture seems to be going crazy. It may seem like people today are living more for themselves than ever before, yet Jesus Christ is the same. CEO's may swindle millions from corporations, accountants may mishandle funds, politicians may rant and rave for selfish political reasons, but Jesus stays the same. We can count on Him! He will always steer us straight. He will always represent the truth. He will always provide a way out of any of our mistakes and give us hope for our future.

Daily Prayer focus: Right now ask Jesus to guide you today. He has blessed in the past and He will bless you again in the future. He has answered prayers in the past and His love will provide guidance again today. Ask Him. Trust Him. Talk to Him!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go¹s GoCamp ministry that trains believers all over the world how to share their faith.

Every Detail by Joan Cook

On The Go Daily Devotion for August 26, 2010

Every Detail by Joan Cook

"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered." Matthew 10:30

Recently, I received an email from a friend I'd like to share with you.

While attending a marriage seminar on communication, Bill and his wife, Sue, listened to the instructor declare, "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other."

He then addressed the men, "Can you describe your wife's favorite flower?"

Bill leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, "Pillsbury, All-Purpose, isn't it?"

While this story is amusing, I'm afraid it is all too often true!

We might not know the intricate details of our friends, families, or even spouse's lives, but guess what? God does! The Bible very clearly tells us that He knows us so well He has the hairs of our head numbered. If God knows how many, or perhaps few, hairs you might have, don't you think He is interested in every detail about our lives, no matter how big or how small!

What a mighty God we serve!

Daily Prayer Focus: Think on Him and His awesomeness today!

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Finances of Team as they boldly go out for Jesus Christ. Pray that all their needs will be met at home and for the projects they are working on.

Midnight Caller by Laurie McTier

Midnight Caller by Laurie McTier

³The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.² John 10:10

Recently, I was getting ready for bed when all of sudden, outside, I heard brakes squealing and metal. I looked out of my bedroom window to see a dark car crashing into our fence, right next to my bedroom. I ran outside to make sure the driver was okay while calling Metro Police. But, before I could get outside, the driver sped away. Immediately, two neighbors came down to check to make sure that everyone was okay. My husband was out of town, so I was grateful for their help. They had seen the whole thing and agreed to be witnesses for the police report.

While accessing the damage of the fence, I noticed the license plate from the speeding car was right at the edge of the fence. Ten minutes later a young man walked into the yard. I thought he was coming to check on me, but he had another agenda. He came to grab the license plate! I tried to tell him that it was evidence and that the police were on the way. But that did not stop him. He knelt down, picked up the plate, and walked up the street. When the police arrived, we filled out a report, and then I gave him the address of the young man who came to get the plate.

Many emotions were running through my mind. My thoughts were racing through the incident and I was angry and upset. Immediately, God began to show me that He had protected my family and my home. The fence had served as a barrier so that the car had not hit my house and possibly injured me! God also reminded me of the following scripture...²Perfect Peace has he whose mind is stayed on Thee.² (Isaiah 26:3)

As I began to share the incident with my husband, God reminded me that sometimes we get just a glimpse of how His protective hand is at work. He guides our every step, He protects His children from danger, and He provides for our every need. What a blessing to be called a Child of God!

Prayer Focus: Praise God for His WatchCare and Protection!

On The Go Prayer Focus: Joan Cook's "Women On The Go" Ministries. Joan's "Women On The Go" programs are implemented at women's conferences, local churches, retreats, and separate stand-alone events. God has given her a burden to minister to and encourage women in their walk with the Lord.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Faith Lessons by Keith Cook

Faith Lessons by Keith Cook

"If we believe not, he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself." II Timothy 2:13

While preaching a crusade in New York, God showed me the most delightful little book. The title of the book is "Proving God". This book was printed in 1956. The author chronicles the faith experiences of the China Inland Mission, the great mission that was founded by J. Hudson Taylor.

In the forward J. Oswald Sanders noted several things that I thought would be interesting to you.

1. God will even use His enemies to fulfill His purposes
2. God is never taken by surprise
3. God is never too late
4. God will care for His children
5. God uses a variety of methods to supply our needs

As you go about your day, consider these faith lessons.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that today you will begin to exercise faith in every area of your life.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Families of the On The Go staff. Pray for their emotions, finances, safety, wisdom, and spiritual health.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.
