Flee From Sin by Laurie McTier
"Abstain from all appearance of evil." 1 Thessalonians 5:22
Sin is anything that goes against the heart of God. God's desire for each of His children is holiness and purity. We show our love for God by our obedience and service to Him.
There are two types of sins.
1) Sin of Omission- This is when we know God's heart and we know what He wants us to do, yet we do not do it.
2) Sin of Commission- This is an action or thought that we commit against the heart of God.
God wants us to maintain a pure heart. In order to do this, we must keep our sins confessed. As the Holy Spirit convicts you of sin, confess it immediately. Unconfessed sin in your life not only affects you, but everyone else around you.
The Bible says that we should run from even the appearance of sin. We should flee from youthful lust. Take a stand against sin today.
Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will reveal hidden sins that are in your life that you can confess them and He can purify your heart.
